# Cancel a service

> Submit a cancellation request for hosting, VPS or other services.

> Cancelling deletes the service and all its data. Download any files, databases and emails you want to keep **before** cancelling.

**1. Open the service**

Click **Services** in the top menu (page: **My Products & Services**), then open the service.

**2. Request cancellation**

In the left-hand menu, click **Request Cancellation**.

**3. Choose when**

* **End of billing period:** the service runs until its paid-up date, then is removed. This is the best choice for most people.
* **Immediate:** the service is removed as soon as we process the request.

**4. Tell us why (optional) and submit**

Your feedback helps us improve.

## Domains

Domains aren't cancelled this way. To stop renewing a domain, turn off **Auto Renew** (see [Renewals](/billing/renewals)) and it will expire at the end of its term. To move it to another provider, ask us for the transfer (EPP) code.

## Already have an unpaid renewal invoice?

Submitting a cancellation for the end of the billing period cancels the related unpaid renewal invoice automatically in most cases. If it doesn't, [open a billing ticket](/support/open-a-ticket).
