# Overdue invoices and suspension

> What happens if a renewal invoice isn't paid on time.

If a renewal invoice isn't paid by its due date, the service moves through these stages:

| Days after due date | What happens |
| - | - |
| 1, 2 and 3 | Overdue reminder emails |
| 3 | Service is **suspended**. Website, email and server access stop working, but your data is kept |
| 30 | Service is **terminated** and data is permanently deleted |

>
> Once a service is terminated, its data cannot be recovered. Keep your own backups and pay overdue invoices promptly.

## Reactivate a suspended service

Pay the overdue invoice from **Billing → My Invoices**. Suspended services are usually reactivated automatically within a few minutes of payment. If yours is still suspended after 4 hours, [open a ticket](/support/open-a-ticket).
