# Set up email on your phone or computer

> Add your HostCloud email to Outlook, the Gmail app, iPhone or Android.

This guide shows you how to add your HostCloud email address to the apps you already use, so you can read and send email on your phone and computer.

## Before you start

Have these ready. Replace `yourdomain.com` with your own domain.

| You'll need | Value |
| - | - |
| Email address (username) | Your full email address |
| Password | The password for that email account |
| Incoming server | `mail.yourdomain.com`, IMAP port `993`, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing server | `mail.yourdomain.com`, SMTP port `465`, SSL/TLS, authentication on |

For all settings, including POP3, see [Email settings: IMAP, POP3 and SMTP](/email/email-settings-imap-pop-smtp.md).

> [!TIP]
>
> Using iPhone, iPad, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, Windows Mail or an older Outlook? cPanel can set it up for you. In cPanel, open **Email Accounts**, click **Connect Devices** next to the account, and download the setup file for your app under **Mail Client Automatic Configuration Scripts**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Email apps change their menus from time to time, so the names below may differ slightly on your device. If your app tries to set things up automatically and fails, look for a manual or advanced setup option and enter the settings above.

**Outlook**

**1. Add an account**

Open Outlook and go to the option to add an account (on Windows, usually **File → Add Account** or **Settings → Accounts**).

**2. Enter your email address**

Type your full email address. If Outlook offers advanced or manual setup, choose it.

**3. Choose IMAP**

When asked for the account type, choose **IMAP**.

**4. Enter the server settings**

Enter `mail.yourdomain.com` as both the incoming and outgoing server. Use port `993` (SSL/TLS) for incoming and `465` (SSL/TLS) for outgoing. Enter your password when asked.

**5. Finish**

Save. Outlook connects and starts downloading your email.

**Gmail app**

These steps work in the Gmail app on both Android and iPhone.

**1. Add an account**

Tap your profile picture (top-right), then **Add another account**.

**2. Choose Other**

Choose **Other**, then enter your full email address.

**3. Choose IMAP**

If asked for the account type, choose **Personal (IMAP)**.

**4. Enter your password and server settings**

Enter your password. For the incoming server, use `mail.yourdomain.com`, port `993`, SSL/TLS. For the outgoing server, use `mail.yourdomain.com`, port `465`, SSL/TLS, and turn on sign-in or authentication.

**5. Finish**

Choose your sync options and give the account a name. Your email appears in the Gmail app.

**iPhone / iPad**

**Quickest way:** on your iPhone or iPad, log in to cPanel, open **Email Accounts**, tap **Connect Devices** next to the account, and tap **IMAP over SSL/TLS** next to iOS. Then follow the prompts to install the profile in **Settings**.

**Or set it up by hand:**

**1. Open Mail settings**

Open the **Settings** app and go to **Mail** (on newer iOS versions, **Apps → Mail**), then **Mail Accounts** or **Accounts**.

**2. Add an account**

Tap **Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account**.

**3. Enter your details**

Enter your name, full email address, password and a description, then tap **Next**.

**4. Choose IMAP and enter the servers**

Choose **IMAP**. Under both **Incoming Mail Server** and **Outgoing Mail Server**, enter `mail.yourdomain.com` as the host name, your full email address as the username, and your password. Tap **Next**.

**5. Save**

Make sure **Mail** is turned on and tap **Save**.

If email won't send, go back to the account, open the outgoing server settings, and check that SSL is on and the port is `465`.

**Android (other apps)**

Many Android phones have their own email app, such as Samsung Email. The steps are similar in most apps.

**1. Add an account**

Open the email app and choose to add a new account.

**2. Choose manual setup**

Enter your full email address and password, then choose **Manual setup** (or similar). Choose **IMAP** as the account type.

**3. Enter the server settings**

Incoming: `mail.yourdomain.com`, port `993`, security SSL/TLS. Outgoing: `mail.yourdomain.com`, port `465`, security SSL/TLS, with sign-in required.

**4. Finish**

Save the account. Your email will start to sync.
