Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to login: after your password, you enter a code from an app on your phone. It’s the best way to stop someone who has your password from getting into your account.

Before you start

Install an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy.

Open security settings

Click the account menu (your name, top-right) and choose Security Settings.

Enable 2FA

Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Click here to Enable.

Scan the QR code

Scan it with your authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code it shows.

Save your backup code

You’ll be shown a backup code. Store it somewhere safe (not on the same phone). You’ll need it if you lose your device.

Lost your phone?

Use your backup code to log in, then disable and re-enable 2FA with your new device. If you’ve lost the backup code too, contact support. We’ll ask you to verify your identity before removing 2FA.
