Account credit is a balance held in your HostCloud account. It’s used to pay your invoices, so you don’t have to pay each one separately. This guide shows you how to add funds and how credit works.

Ways to get account credit

  • Add funds yourself in advance (below).
  • Downgrade a plan: the price difference is added as credit. See Upgrade or downgrade a plan.
  • Refunds: an approved refund can go to your account credit instead of your bank or card, if you prefer. See Refund policy.

Add funds

1

Limits

GST isn’t charged when you add funds. GST is charged as usual on the invoices for your services, which your credit then pays. See Currency, GST and tax invoices.
All deposits are non-refundable. Add only what you expect to use on HostCloud services.

How credit is used

When a new invoice is created, such as a renewal, your available credit is applied to it. If your credit covers the whole invoice, it’s marked paid. If not, the credit reduces the amount and you pay the rest. You can see your current balance at the top of the Add Funds page.
Adding funds before your renewals are due is an easy way to avoid a service being suspended because a payment was missed. See Renewals.
