If a website, email or server hosted with HostCloud is sending spam, hosting a phishing page or malware, or attacking other systems, please tell us. This guide shows you how to report it so we can act quickly.

What to report

  • Spam emails sent from a HostCloud server or a domain we host
  • Phishing pages, fake shops or scam websites
  • Malware or viruses hosted on a site
  • Attacks on other systems, such as hacking attempts or floods of traffic
  • Copyright or trademark infringement
  • Fake emails or messages pretending to be HostCloud. See Recognise phishing emails

How to report

1

Open an Abuse ticket

Go to clients.hostcloud.in/submitticket.php and choose Abuse. If you’re a customer, log in first, or use Support → Open Ticket.
2

Include the evidence

  • The website address (full URL) or domain name involved
  • For spam or phishing emails: the full email headers, not just a forwarded copy or screenshot. In Gmail, open the email, click ⋮ and Show original. In Outlook, open File → Properties
  • For attacks: the IP addresses involved, dates and times with time zone, and log extracts
  • For copyright claims: the content, where it appears, and proof that you own the rights
3

Submit

We’ll investigate and take action where our terms are broken. For privacy reasons, we may not be able to tell you exactly what action was taken.
[[TODO: how people who aren’t HostCloud customers report abuse (guest ticket or an abuse email address), and any target response time]]
Don’t click links or open attachments in suspicious emails while gathering evidence. Copy the headers and addresses instead.

Your own account sending spam?

If you get bounce messages for emails you didn’t send, or your site starts redirecting to strange pages, your account may have been hacked. Change your passwords straight away and open a Technical Support ticket. See Fix emails going to spam.
Services suspended for abuse or for breaking our Terms of Service aren’t eligible for a refund. See Refund policy.
