DNS records control where your website and email go. You edit them wherever your domain’s nameservers point. This guide helps you find the right place in a minute.

Check your nameservers

In the Client Area, click Domains in the top menu. On the domain’s row, click the ⋯ menu and choose Manage Nameservers.
  • Use default nameservers is selected, or you see ns1.mysecurecloudhost.com to ns4.mysecurecloudhost.com: your domain uses HostCloud nameservers.
  • Other nameservers are listed (for example, ones ending in cloudflare.com): your domain uses another DNS provider.
If your domain is registered somewhere else, check the nameservers in that provider’s account.

Where to make changes

Domain only, no hosting?

HostCloud nameservers only serve DNS for domains that have a HostCloud hosting account. If you have just a domain with us, choose one of these:
  • Add hosting, then point the domain to it and manage DNS in cPanel.
  • Use your own DNS provider (such as Cloudflare). Set up your records there, then enter that provider’s nameservers under Use custom nameservers (enter below). See Change your nameservers.

What about “DNS Management” in the Client Area?

You may see DNS Management in your domain’s sidebar. Please don’t use it. It doesn’t work with HostCloud nameservers or with other DNS providers, so changes made there won’t affect your website or email. Use cPanel or your DNS provider instead, as shown above. Still stuck? Open a ticket with your domain name and tell us what you’re trying to set up.
